All Tomb Raiders and Treasure Hunters sit up and pay attention!
The little city, where I was born, located at the southern most tip of India is suddenly under the spotlight. Why???
The Supreme Court of India, appointed a 7-member panel to open up and take stock of the underground vaults at The Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple, in July this year. As of today, we have unconfirmed reports that the value of the items found therein is close to a whopping INR.100,000 Crore (USD.22.3 billion).
This breaks quite a few records previously held by Tirumala Venkateswara Temple in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh; Golden Temple in Amritsar, Punjab; and the Shirdi Sai Baba Shrine in Maharashtra; and puts Sree Padmanabhaswamy as the richest temple in the country.
The Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple is located in the heart of the city of Trivandrum (the capital city of the state of Kerala). This is a city that has never really made any big news, unlike the economically superior Kochi . But now, the whole world holds its breath as vault after vault of atleast a millennium-old treasure is being unearthed.
But you have read/seen all this all over the media over the past few days. Why should you read what I have to say?
Well, I am more bothered about the future of these treasures.
The rightful owners of the treasure are the Travancore Maharajas. It was their ancestors who hid the whole thing so perfectly and made sure that it remained that way for so many years. But of course, they will not get anything now. Tough luck, guys!
The treasures were a gift to the deity in that temple from the rulers of that time. The Maharajas believed that he was the real King and hence the rightful owner of such immense wealth. No wonder we call Kerala – God’s Own Country. But now, there is little that even God can do to prevent man from squandering all that. Tough luck, Lord Sree Padmanabha!
The Supreme Court? Ha! There is very little they can do! The media will put them under the microscope 24x7 to see what their next steps are. Tough luck, 7-member panel! You guys must feel like crap after seeing all that splendor and not being able to taste it. My advice – put some diamonds in your pockets and run for your lives.
So, that means that it is a national treasure and rightfully belongs to the Public. Hahaha!!! It sounds even hilarious to think about that. So I am not going to go there. That’s right, guys, we are getting nothing either!
So what happens now? Well, you already know the answer to that. This will be equally divided among the politicians of India . Let me just make one thing clear – the politicians in Kerala are corrupt, just like every other politician in the world, but they are not talented enough for something of this scale. So I am betting on the smarter ones outside Kerala. You guys have a perfect chance to prove your might here. Isn’t that a lovely opportunity?
So buckle up Indians, very soon we will have a SPT Scam (Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple Scam) filling our daily quota of scams. Oh my! I am so excited already. This is going to be fun! And yeah, there is nothing we can do about it!
P.S. Like I said, treasure hunters, please do something. I would rather read the news about the whole thing being stolen than about another scam. Do something. Use your skills. Work your magic. You guys deserve it than our filthy politicians.

Good one da... :)
ReplyDeleteAm sure these media will be attracting all the thieves in the world to SPT now. I switched channels 4 times today to avoid seeing discussions on SPT. These people are always luking for something they can live on for another week. I love my tvm and dnt it to be known for the wrong reasons.. :(
About the treasure, when it was given to the temple, it was said that it is the property of the temple and never the property of govt and never to mix them up.
We can only sit here and say all that... And ya, I hear from a reliable source that there is a chamber below the temple pond. This chamber has billions worth of sandalwood stored under it. And the processin they have done to it has kept it in tiptop condition for a millenium. But nobody knows how to get into that chamber... fascinatin isnt it???
ReplyDeleteGodd... With all these money Trivandrum can be richer than whole India.. :)
ReplyDeleteHaha!!! No, this is National wealth... India is richer... Not tvm or kerala...
ReplyDeleteGod! Is there so much money?
ReplyDeleteGod, you are unbelievable!
Haha! Yeah, actually, there is more... 2 chambers are yet to be opened... The Supreme Court members r perplexed!!! God is great :)
ReplyDeleteGod owns this country :)
